Turbine

This level was another experiment of mine, or two experiments even. The first experiment was to cramp as many different areas in a single map as possible, creating a very versatile environment. CryEngine2 allowed me to create an enormous level which I divided into small sections of different play styles and graphical styles. The different sections were nice but now I realize that they need more connections with each other. It would have been better if the whole are was downscaled too. The second experiment was trying to mirror and balance the level gameplay wise while creating different looks for each side. I submitted this level in 2008 for the Intel Crysis Mapping Contest over at CryDev.net and ended up in the top 10, this was also my first large scope project which I had to finish for a deadline.
